Welcome back to Rare Byrds' Christian Blogging Site
Hi everyone,
When I think about biblical identity, the first thing that comes to mind is John 17:16. According to this passage, yes we, as believers in Christ Jesus, are physically present in this natural world, however, we mustn't embody the world's likeness.

Envision this, guys. Imagine taking a glimpse into the spiritual realm. You are searching for light in this dark seemingly cold world. After looking for what seems to be forever, a sparkling light appears. Your heart thumps with hope and excitement, and, as you get closer, you notice that the one light is many. Now, understand these hopeful lights are believers who spread the gospel in unilluminated places.
We Are Joint Heirs with Christ Our Father
When we identify as Christians by word, deed, and thought we are a part of God. We become his family and we bear our crosses. I remember 2 Corinthians 5:17, which states, "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old has passed away, and the new has come." Let's dissect this passage for a moment. When you enter into Christhood, you are made new, but how is this so? This is possible through the gift of the lamb's blood. Can you grasp, the fact, that Jesus took on the entire world's sins (past, present, and future sins) all at once? Not only did the Lord carry the weight of our sins but Jesus also chose to die to gift us salvation. That act, of love, is and will always be, the greatest act of selflessness.
Blessed to Know Who We Are
As we move into the holiday season, meditate on John 6:35: "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst". Family be blessed because our identity is connected to the true vine, Christ Jesus.
The biblical doctrine of identity in the New King James Version (NKJV) is below.
1 Peter 2:9 - But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
2 Timothy 1:7 - For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and a sound mind.
1 Corinthians 12:26-27 - "If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together. Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it."
John 1:12 - But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God
Brothers and sisters, the Christian identity shouldn't be diluted. If a Christian fails to stand for the ministry or becomes lukewarm, the light fades and power is null and void. Family, continue to hold on to God's unfailing word it sustains us, especially during these times.
