But God …

Updated: Jun 29

No matter what happens in life, I believe everything happens for a reason. Whether good or bad God is always preparing you for something next. It may not make sense now but it will in a minute, let me explain.

When I was 17 I was blessed with my first job. I worked there for about a year before I was assaulted which resulted in me walking out the same day. I knew from day one that the job wasn’t for me. Fast forward to 2020, a pandemic hit the country and mayhem broke out BUT GOD. I had two jobs and was grateful to have not been affected during all of this. During the pandemic I prepared myself for a bigger position at work. I flooded myself with work and learning everything. Everyone thought I would be perfect for the position. I applied to the position THREE times. Each time I was denied due to my store manager sabotaging my application. This made me feel defeated and frustrated! Once again, this resulted in me quitting my job, BUT GOD !!!!!!

I didn’t know what I was going to do but feeling overwhelmed, overworked and underappreciated was too much for me in the workplace. I then landed a new job! I got the position I wanted all along with higher pay and a new company! During this time I got pregnant and management was furious with this and started mistreating me. I knew I could no longer stay at this job feeling overwhelmed during my pregnancy. I then decided to resign for my mental health. Being that I was pregnant and soon to be jobless I once again felt frustrated. I didn’t know what to do but I praised God through it all! I know anything God does is for my good. Within a week, I landed a new job once again. They accommodated me during my sickness throughout pregnancy and I got a raise.

I had been at this job for about 2 years at this point and things were going pretty well. Not the best but not the worst. One small conflict with a colleague led to me being wrongfully terminated. Not a warning, not a write-up but termination. I honestly was shocked but for some reason I didn’t worry. I had no stable income source, a one year old and bills that were due BUT GOD blessed me and restored me! He told me not to worry about it but to pray about it. After two months I then again was blessed with a job.

I say that to say this, no matter what the situation is God will restore you and place you where you are supposed to be! NOT where you want to be, not on your time, not when you want but His timing !!! When God knows it’s going to work for you and work out because everything he does is good works! No matter the problem or situation God will deliver you and restore you.

Scriptures on restoration:

Key Themes of Restoration in Scriptures:

* Spiritual Restoration:Verses like Psalm 51:12 (requesting the restoration of the joy of salvation) and Galatians 6:1 (encouraging gentle restoration of those caught in sin) highlight the importance of restoring a person's relationship with God and with others.

* Physical Restoration:Jeremiah 30:17 promises to restore health and heal wounds, while Psalm 71:20 emphasizes the restoration of life.

* Emotional Restoration:Psalm 23:3, for instance, speaks of the restoration of one's soul, while Job 42:10-17 illustrates the restoration of fortunes and well-being.

* Relational Restoration:Galatians 6:1 encourages restoring relationships by gently helping those who have fallen into sin.
